eCorner signs first hosting partner for epages e-business platform

 • 05 July, 2004 14:55

eCorner, the Australian distributor of e-commerce platform epages, has announced eShop as its first hosting partner.

epages is the leading e-commerce platform for SMEs, with more than 35,000 customers worldwide using 600,000 product licenses. eCorner announced a master distributor agreement with German-based epages Software GmbH in April and has been actively seeking technology, implementation and hosting partners in Australia and New Zealand.

As eCorner’s first epages hosting partner, eShop ( will provide SMEs with a one-stop location for all their e-business and e-procurement needs with a total hosted solution based around epages, including end-to-end infrastructure, broadband, a payment gateway, and consulting.

Managing Director Stephen Rowney established eShop after recognising the opportunity epages creates for SMEs to grow their business with an online web store.

“epages allows small and medium businesses to leverage a powerful web presence with online sales ability for a fraction of the capital cost of building an online storefront from scratch,” said Mr Rowney, who has worked extensively in the IT industry in a range of technical roles as a consultant and with major corporations since the early 1990s.

“It gives the Australian business community a very cost effective, proven and highly functional entry point for online transactions. It is very hard to build and manage online transaction systems from scratch. epages simplifies the whole process and you don’t need a huge budget to do it.

“epages is a modular system with standardised functions, yet flexible enough to meet customers’ specific requirements. That means we can work with SMEs to identify their needs, tailor a solution from the range of tools available in epages and provide hosting. This means SMEs can focus on their core business without needing high levels of in-house technical skills or spending money on security, data connections and hardware.”

eShop’s managed hosted solution will help SMEs grow their business, according to eCorner’s founder and Chief Executive Officer John Debrincat.

“As eCorner’s first hosting partner in Australia, eShop quickly identified the opportunity epages presents in helping SMEs generate significant returns on investment from a well-developed and well-managed web store,” Mr Debrincat said.

“eShop’s total solution is focused on small business to make it easy for them to understand the costs involved versus the significant return on investment ecommerce can deliver. This will come as a breath of fresh air in a segment that has tended to deliver complex solutions that include hidden and unexpected costs to customers.”
