NSW Office of Protocol & Special Events Selects PolicyPoint for Policy Management

 • 23 March, 2006 10:29

PolicyPoint, a leading provider of Internet-based systems that ensure awareness and understanding of corporate policies, has announced that its policy management solution has been selected by the NSW Office of Protocol and Special Events (OPSE). OPSE will implement the PolicyPoint solution to ensure the delivery of its operations policies to its staff.

OPSE is a division of the NSW Premier’s Department and provides management and coordination services for the Premier in special events, official visits, community programs, community honours/awards and public service honours/awards.

As a specialised unit of the NSW Government, OPSE supplements its permanent staff with a range of employees for short term services relating to single events held throughout the year. OPSE required a policy management system that was flexible and easy-to-use – particularly as it has such a high rotation of short-term events staff. PolicyPoint, a proven source for web-based policy management, is able to provide a simple yet complete solution. OPSE plans to test PolicyPoint using its permanent staff with a view to possibly rolling it out more widely.

“The unit has different groups of up to 100 people employed over the year, some for periods of a few weeks, with volunteers and employees from different backgrounds and locations”, said Andrew Stein, PolicyPoint Managing Director. ”PolicyPoint has the ability to ensure that each of these diverse groups is fully aware of OPSE’s operational policies – including general information regarding employment and administration, and information specific to each event. OPSE will now be able to inform, test and follow up the process. Staff will be able to access a personal library of information tailored for each individual from their office or home computer before they start working on a project.”
