PROGNOSIS precise performance monitoring software, developed by Integrated Research Ltd (ASX:IRI), was last night named a winner of the prestigious 2006 Consensus Software Award.

The Consensus Software Awards program showcases Australia's finest software developers and their technology. The Award is based on the criterion of innovation; the ability to perform; and market potential.

Integrated Research’s winning entry, PROGNOSIS for Web Applications, is a software solution that measures the quality of user experience with an organisation’s Web-based applications (such as internet banking, travel booking, or other online shopping services).

This is a new product in the growing PROGNOSIS software family that offers significant value to organisations by giving them insight into how well their revenue generating or critical online services are functioning for their customers.

In presenting the award, the Hon. Senator Stephen Conroy, Shadow Minister for Communications and Information Technology said, “This is an innovative approach to measuring quality of service for online customers. We are all relying on the Internet more for our day-to-day business dealings and the ability to measure service levels and be alerted to problems has become vital for many companies”.

Conroy adds “I’m delighted to present this award to Integrated Research - an Australian success story. This company has consistently delivered business-critical software products to international markets for 18 years. They have customers in more than 50 countries and generate over 97 per cent of their revenue outside of Australia. This new web monitoring solution is another fine example of this company’s ability to leverage its expertise in business critical technology. ”

Accepting the award for Integrated Research, John Dunne, product manager said, “Receiving this Consensus Award is a tremendous validation of our software development efforts. As Internet transactions have become increasingly business critical, we saw the significant global market opportunity and the ‘DNA’ matched our architectural expertise”.

Dunne concludes “This Consensus Software Award is particularly significant because it recognises our product innovation, performance and execution as evaluated by an independent panel of industry experts.”

The Awards were sponsored by the Microsoft and endorsed by Austrade, the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA), the Australian Interactive Multimedia Industry Association (AIMIA) and Software Engineering Australia (SEA).
