Polycom names new Services Director for Asia Pacific region

<p>Polycom, Inc. [NASDAQ: PLCM], the world’s leading provider of unified collaborative communications solutions, has announced the appointment of Christopher Taylor as Polycom’s APAC Service Director to be based in Hong Kong and responsible for all elements of Polycom’s Global Services (PGS) business in the Asia Pacific region.</p>
<p>Reporting to Geno Alissi, Vice President and General Manager of PGS Worldwide, Taylor takes over from Dave Ertel who is moving to the UK to manage technical support across Europe and the Middle East.</p>
<p>“2005 was a very busy year for Polycom Global Services (PGS) in the Asia Pacific region with the opening of two new parts depots, an additional level 1 call centre, over 500 technical staff (partners and customers) trained and an increased headcount across the region of 30 percent,” said Alissi. “Dave Ertel made an incredible impression in the region and, along with many achievements, was the main architect in implementing a new region-wide service programme that is the envy of our competitors.”</p>
<p>Previously the Acting Director for Cisco’s Asia Pacific Advanced Services in Hong Kong, Taylor has spent all of his working life in the services business ranging from system engineering, customer services operations, product support, advanced engineering services and professional service delivery. Starting his career at a major digital OEM in the UK, Taylor also worked as Compaq Technical Services’ Manager based in Dubai.</p>
<p>“Polycom is very fortunate to have someone of Chris’ calibre joining as the new Services Director. A solid background in a variety of service positions and with extensive experience in this region, Chris will be add another dimension to Polycom’s Global Services business,” added Alissi.</p>
