SONICWALL RELEASES NEW SonicOS 3.2 ENHANCED SUPPORTING IKEv2 VPN PROTOCOL FOR INTERNET SECURITY APPLIANCES

Increased Performance and Security Now Available on TZ and PRO Appliances

Sydney. – May 31, 2006 – SonicWALL, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNWL), a leading provider of continuous data protection and network, Web and email security solutions, today released a new, IKEv2-enabled version of its SonicOS Enhanced operating system delivering increased performance, reliability and security. SonicOS 3.2 Enhanced is one of the first commercial implementations to support Internet Key Exchange Version 2 (IKEv2), the latest authentication protocol for site-to-site virtual private networks.

By incorporating multiple improvements to the original IKEv1 specification, the IKEv2 core framework produces better performance, security and reliability for encrypted virtual private networks (VPNs). The new protocol also enhances interoperability with other security devices that incorporate IPsec VPN.

“IKEv2 is the first major upgrade to the core VPN specification since it debuted in 1998, and this new standard builds on the lessons learned,” said Mark Zimmerman, IPSec program manager, ICSA Labs. “SonicWALL was a valued participant in the IKEv2 interoperability bakeoff. Additionally, SonicWALL is one of the first vendors to enter into the ICSA Labs IPSec 2.0 certification program.”

SonicOS 3.2 Enhanced improves the delivery of high-speed gateway anti-virus, anti-spyware, intrusion prevention, anti-spam, anti-phishing, Clean VPN™ and content filtering on its firewall appliances. SonicWALL’s Clean VPN architecture utilizes deep packet inspection to scrutinize the payload of every packet in all connections from mobile and branch VPN connections to ensure malicious code and vulnerabilities are eliminated prior to entry into companies’ networks. SonicOS 3.2 Enhanced delivers advanced features across all SonicWALL TZ and PRO Series appliances, combining high performance with reliability and ease of use, enabling businesses of all sizes to take advantage of the latest developments in enterprise-class network security.

“For our client, The National Pain Institute, we run SonicOS 3.2 Enhanced with IKEv2 powered VPNs to secure and segment their nine locations,” said Michael E. Crean, president of Solutions Granted, Inc. “This new release gives us increased opportunity as a managed services provider to meet and cover our clients’ needs.”

SonicOS 3.2 Enhanced offers scalable new enterprise-class features such as:
 Network segmentation and traffic isolation
 High availability in Transparent Mode
 Clientless UTM notification
 Server load balancing for SSL-VPN and Web applications
 SSHv2 console access
 Enhanced GUI performance

Additional features of this release include dynamic routing and VLAN support on the SonicWALL PRO 2040 and 3060, next-generation IKEv2 support enabling stronger site-to-site VPNs and enhanced manageability.

Availability
SonicOS 3.2 Enhanced is available now through Renaissance in NZ and LAN 1, itX, Ingram Micro and ACA Pacific in Australia.
