Recruiter: .Net and 3G wireless skills in demand

.Net and 3G wireless applications skills are in huge demand, but RSP Group director Gary Hinksman warned that all candidates need to be business as well as technically savvy.

"The same people that hired in dotcom days are hiring now, but they have learnt their lessons," he said.

"You will find employers saying 'sure, you can program in Java or .Net, but can you also communicate to clients and improve our bottom line'?"

Hinksman said that .Net will continue to be in demand.

"A lot of our clients are moving from older systems to .Net platforms and integrating legacy systems across organizations. Companies generally have a lot of faith in .Net over other systems."

There will also be growing opportunities with wireless Internet and 3G business applications content.

"There are now a number of players in the 3G wireless space looking to value add, so people that can design applications that sit on these platforms will be highly sought after," he said

Hinksman said contractor rates have increased 20 percent and a lift of 10 to 15 percent in permanent IT salaries in the last year.

MSI GS75

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.
