Samsung shows another thin cell phone handset

Samsung has taken the wraps off the third in its series of thin-body 'Ultra' cell phone handsets.

Samsung Electronics Co. has taken the wraps off the third in its series of thin-body "Ultra" cell phone handsets.

The D830 is a clamshell that's just 9.9 millimeters thick, which makes it the thinnest of its type in the world, according to Samsung. The phone has a 2 megapixel camera with QVGA (240 pixels by 320 pixels) resolution 2.3-inch main display on the inside and a 0.8-inch sub display on the outside of the case. It can record videos in MPEG4, playback MP3, AAC, AAC+ and Windows Media Audio format music and has Bluetooth, USB, TV output and a document viewer.

It measures 103 millimeters by 54mm by 9.9mm and weighs 85 grams. The phone is due out in Southeast Asia later this year at a price yet to be determined, said Samsung.

The phone joins two other models in the Ultra range. All three were launched in Asia on Tuesday at the Communicasia trade show in Singapore but the two prior models were first shown at the Sviaz ExpoComm 2006 exhibition in Moscow in May.

The X820 is a bar form-factor handset that is even thinner than the new clamshell phone at 6.9mm and lighter at 66 grams. And the D900 is a slider that is 12.9mm thick and weighs 85 grams. All three phones are GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) models and should be available in major world markets by the end of this year or early next year, said Samsung.

It’s easy to set up, it’s compact and quiet when printing and to top if off, the print quality is excellent. This is hands down the best printer I’ve used for printing labels.

The print quality also does not disappoint, it’s clear, bold, doesn’t smudge and the text is perfectly sized.
