Symantec Delivers Comprehensive Protection at its Annual Symantec VISION 2006 Australia Customer and Partner event

<p>Australian event to be held in Sydney on September 5</p>
<p>SYDNEY, Australia – 1 September 2006 - Symantec is holding its annual VISION 2006 conference on September 5 at the Hilton Hotel, Sydney, with more than 1,600 customers registered to attend. VISION is Symantec’s annual conference for current and future enterprise customers and aims to be a strategic gathering place for members of the IT community.</p>
<p>The theme for this year’s VISION conference is, “Protection: Information, Infrastructure and Interaction,” which will include presentations from Symantec’s senior executives, strategic partners including NetApp, Symantec customers, as well as a special keynote presentation from Dr Keith Suter. Dr Suter is a social commentator and strategic planner, and one of only 100 members of the prestigious global think tank, The Club of Rome. He will be presenting on “Where the global economy is headed, with a predominant focus on Asia Pacific and what the implications will be on technology and investment in technology”.</p>
<p>During the free-of-charge one-day event, speakers will highlight the importance of creating a secure and trusted environment, free from risks to security, availability, compliance and performance.</p>
<p>This includes how businesses and IT managers can plan for the future; maximise investment in legacy and future IT systems; reduce risk; optimise hardware and system management; and improve application and business security.</p>

<p>In the afternoon, the conference will be split into five streams: Data Centre Foundation; Enterprise Messaging Management; Comprehensive Threat Management; IT Compliance and Windows Protection, made up of a technical demonstration track and tutorials.</p>
