I'm a bit late reporting on this, but last week, Dell announced Platinum Plus, a new top-of-the-line portfolio of support services aimed at large companies and other sizable organizations. It features options like reports on how outposts of far-flung enterprises are doing in terms of IT performance according to various metrics (which is interesting in part because it's Dell rating how Dell is doing as a service provider).
The aspect of Platinum Plus that's most immediately entertaining--which isn't, I concede, a standard factor to consider when looking at computer services--is its use of Google Earth to map out a company's support activities in real time.
Pretty clever, and potentially very useful. We do indeed live in the era of the mashup, and it's fascinating to see them show up practically everywhere.
