NetComm Builds and Strengthens New Commercial Business Team

 • 22 August, 2006 10:19

NetComm, a leading Australian supplier of communications products and solutions, has announced two additions to its new ISP/Value Add sales team – Steven Norris as Sales Manager and Janine Farley as Business Development Manager.

The ISP/Value Add Sales Team is a new unit established to better support and grow key ISP accounts and users of commercial grade products. This is an extension of NetComm’s increased focus on the small and medium business market.

Steven joins NetComm after four years with Commander where he most recently led the specialised IP Telephony business area of Unitel – a national supplier of network services, audio and video conferencing equipment, and IP Telephony solutions. In his role as Sales Manager for the ISP/Value Add team, Steven will develop the market for NetComm’s new small business (SMB) and branch office focused product range. Steven will recruit new Value Added Resellers (VARs), ISPs, Vertical Solutions Providers (VSPs), system integrators and PBX resellers in order to service this new market.

“Many vendors have found it difficult to scale down for the needs of the SMB market, but it is something I believe NetComm has previously done, and continue to do well,” said Norris. “With the range of quality products emerging from NetComm, it will provide a new level of choice for the SMB market. We’re also looking to deliver excellent opportunities for the channel to tap into a market full of potential.”

Janine’s role is based in Victoria and will see her servicing NetComm’s Victorian based ISP customers as well as seeking new partner opportunities in the region for the new SMB focused product range. Prior to joining NetComm, Janine worked for four-and-a-half years as the Southern Region Channel Manager with Unitel. Prior to Unitel she spent three years at 3Com managing Victoria, Tasmania and South Australian based channel partners, system integrators and value added resellers.

These appointments further strengthen the existing NetComm ISP team and will expand their SMB focus and further strengthen their commitment to the Australian broadband and IP markets.
