Avalanche launches Server Edition of pdfFactory Pro

 • 01 March, 2005 16:23

MELBOURNE (March 1, 2005) – Avalanche Technology Group, the Australian distributor of pdfFactory and FinePrint software, today announced the release of new Server Editions of pdfFactory and pdfFactory Pro.

The Server Editions further extends Avalanche’s range of cost-effective enterprise licensing options that allow organisations to distribute robust PDF creation capabilities to all computer users for a remarkably low investment.

pdfFactory Pro Server Edition delivers a comprehensive solution that simplifies the deployment and management of pdfFactory to large numbers of users.

The major benefits of the new Server Editions include the ability to centrally install and update the product as well as providing complete licence management. The licence management function ensures compliance and monitors licence usage on a single, or connected group, of servers. The configurable user interface also allows IT staff to centrally enforce corporate configurations and standards. The system is flexible enough to cater for laptops which may not be permanently connected to the corporate network.

“A growing number of clients are recognising the requirement to distribute PDF creation capability to users throughout their organisation”, Peter Cameron, Director of Business Development at Avalanche said today. “The high investment for Acrobat and the advanced controls within the new Server Edition make pdfFactory Pro the perfect, cost-effective choice for astute organisations,”.

pdfFactory Pro is a powerful and intuitive PDF creation tool that offers the functionality required by all but the power user. At a fraction of the cost of Adobe Acrobat, files generated are 100% compliant with Adobe protocols and can be read by the free Adobe Reader. The Server Edition includes all the security, bookmarking, font embedding and associated attractions of the standalone versions of pdfFactory products. It maintains the small file sizes that differentiate pdfFactory from its competitors.

Outside the generous enterprise licensing options, licensing is priced on a per seat basis. Single user pricing for pdfFactory products starts at just $74.95 with highly liberal discounts as licence volumes increase.
