StorageCraft Reviews New Product Upgrade and Explains ANZ Expansion Plans at Storage Networking World

Greg Wyman Addresses SNW Delegates on D2D2T Strategies

Sydney, Australia - 16 October 2006 - StorageCraft Technology Corporation, a provider of innovative security, disaster recovery and data protection solutions for servers and PCs, announced at the recent SNIA’s SNW event in Sydney, details of the next version of their Real-Time Recovery product, ShadowProtect and their expansion plans in the region.

StorageCraft Regional Manager for Asia Pacific, Greg Wyman, cited the reason for the exponential growth as the unique ability of ShadowProtect to reduce cost and complexity whilst helping to provide a foundation for corporate compliance. At a press briefing, Wyman also discussed details of the strong local adoption of ShadowProtect, the investment in staff and expanded support. Wyman also participated on the SNW panel discussion on D2D2T where provided input on the advantages of disk-to-disk backup and restore, relegating tape to an archival product.

“Since launching ShadowProtect in Australia/New Zealand a few months ago, we have seen strong acceptance from channel partners and demand from local users for our Real-Time Recovery solution, ShadowProtect,” said Wyman. “Customers are increasingly frustrated with expensive, slow and unreliable backup and recovery products that fail to deliver what is required–fast, reliable and cost effective restores on demand. ShadowProtect enables organisations to transition to a single technology that delivers an integrated data, system and database disk-to-disk backup and disaster recovery solution. No additional agents, options or add-ons are required to protect complex, business-critical applications such as Exchange and SQL with minimal interruption to systems, users and networks. This has allowed us to expand our staff, open a new office in Sydney and establish our Australian based technical support operation.”

Wyman also shared details of the next version of ShadowProtect, due for release in Q1, 2007, which is expected to include Hardware Independent Restore–a new feature that will enable companies and partners to quickly, simply and easily migrate users from one server to a different server with a few mouse clicks. “We believe the addition of this capability which enables a customer to move a complete system, including database, from one server to another physical system, a new virtual system or even back from a virtual system to a physical system, will solve one of the critical problems encountered by organisations and partners today.” Wyman went on to say, “Imagine this scenario: your mission critical Exchange or SQL server has crashed. Using ShadowProtect you will be able to rebuild a new server in minutes, restore the ExactState™ of the system and data from within the past 15 minutes and be operational on ANY other system in minutes. That system could be a totally new server, an old server, a virtual server or even a desktop or laptop. Now add in our pricing model of AUD$725 per server, and you have an exceptional value proposition for our users and partners!”

StorageCraft leads the Real-Time Recovery market segment with more than a million installations of their Real-Time Recovery engine called Volume Snapshot Manager. StorageCraft ShadowProtect™ is their flagship solution which provides: Disaster Recovery (Bare Metal Restore) of a Windows™ system—typically in less than 15 minutes, ensures that companies have backups of critical data–including Exchange and SQL servers—every 15 minutes, and enables users to restore their own files with minimal IT intervention, for just AUD$725 (ex GST) per server or AUD$99 (ex. GST) per desktop or laptop.
