eCorner™ Expands Channel to meet Surging Demand

 • 17 January, 2007 07:06

eCorner, a leading Australian provider of secure ecommerce solutions, is experiencing rapid growth in its distribution channel, thanks to increased demand for anti-spam and ecommerce solutions.

Less than two and a half years after establishing its partner program, eCorner now has over 50 partners and is signing up new ones at a rate of three per week. It has also signed up its first Asian partner and is on the verge of signing a major Indian reseller to expand into the sub-continent.

eCorner Managing Director, John Debrincat, said momentum is starting to build, with the strongest growth occurring in the anti-spam market, where resellers are demonstrating heavy demand for its Cloudmark products.

“Cloudmark is one of the leading anti-spam and phishing solutions on the market today, with over 10 million users worldwide. It’s a valuable addition for resellers looking for a new income stream with a best-of-breed offering in this space,” he said.

“Not only does spam account for around 65 per cent of all email traffic, but as more and more companies make the transition online, their volume of email increases, bringing with it the need for effective spam protection.”

eCommerce Growth Drives Channel Expansion
With market projections of continued 40-50 per cent growth in ecommerce per annum, eCorner is also seeing strong interest in its ePages storefront solutions, not only from resellers, but also from vendors, hosting companies and boutique web designers.

“We offer four levels of partnership for our ePages offerings, all of which are attracting significant attention,” said eCorner’s Partner Manager, Jae Debrincat. “The market in Australia and New Zealand is still about two years behind Europe and the US, so the opportunities are enormous, and we’re now expanding into Asia and India.”

eCorner recently signed Hong Kong based Powell Asia Ltd to its partner network and is also in the closing stages of negotiations with its first Indian partner, i2ienterprises.com, to offer hosted solutions.

“We’re also seeing strong interest from ISPs who want to offer a wider range of broadband solutions and see ecommerce as a great way to increase the stickiness of their customer relationships,” he said.

eCorner’s ecommerce partners are divided into four groups:

• Technology Partners, such as Hewlett-Packard, eBay and Sybase, which integrate eCorner’s solutions with their technology;
• Hosting Partners, like WebCentral, which offers eCorner services and solutions in its application marketplace, or SportingPulse.com.au which uses ePages to provide shopfront functionality to sporting clubs and associations;
• Implementation Partners, which are primarily web design houses that use eCorner technology and services to streamline their business processes and provide the infrastructure for their clients’ ecommerce solutions; and
• Resellers, which provide the retail channel to market for eCorner solutions.

“The flexibility of our operating model means that many of our implementation partners are based in regional locations such as the NSW Central Coast – local businesses providing services to local businesses,” said Jae Debrincat.

“These small operators typically don’t receive much support from the big end of town, but we’re focused on this market as a key growth opportunity and back up our offerings with high quality services and support.”

As Master distributor in the ANZ region for ePages, eCorner is also enjoying solid growth in New Zealand and is keen to exploit the opportunities in this rapidly maturing market.

“There are still enormous opportunities in New Zealand, as evidenced by the recent successful launch of NZ Telecom’s online marketplace, Ferrit.co.nz,” John Debrincat said.

“We’re very excited about the potential to build on the strong foundation of partners we’ve established this year and really build momentum in 2007,” he concluded.
