Netcool/Realtime Active Dashboards Version 2.0 Delivers
Executive Level Views for Operational Management Excellence

SYDNEY, Australia, 16 June, 2004 – Micromuse Inc. (Nasdaq: MUSE), the leading provider of ultra-scalable, realtime business and service assurance software, announced enhancements to its Netcool®/Dashboards™ product family with the release of Netcool/Realtime Active Dashboards™ version 2.0 (Netcool/RAD™). The Netcool/Dashboards family provides executive management, IT operations and lines of business, with realtime intelligence and end-to-end visibility into the health of business and IT services, processes and key performance indicators.

The Netcool/Realtime Active Dashboards v2.0 application allows business executives to transform data into valuable business intelligence by visualising service-affecting issues in realtime. Using the enhanced Netcool/RAD views, executives are able to quickly process information as it affects mainlines of business and drive action toward resolution.

“The release of Netcool/RAD enables organisations to provide ‘corner office’ views for executives, allowing them to see the status of their business applications, services, customers and lines of business, in a single place and in realtime. The views also provide performance indicators such as new customers, pending orders, business process status, and open helpdesk and call centre tickets, all in a single management interface,” said Craig Farrell, Micromuse’s CTO. “The ability to visualise business services and make business critical decisions in realtime is a fundamental necessity that drives more targeted action by the operation centre staff, decreased amount of time that a service or application stays down, quicker return to profit and greater customer satisfaction.”

The Netcool/Dashboards family provides an exclusive set of business benefits associated with managing today’s IT and operational support system (OSS) infrastructures. Specific enhancements delivered through the release of Netcool/RAD v.2.0 include:

 Sophisticated user interface with enhanced modeling capabilities enables greater flexibility and granularity in propagating service, application or process status;

 Advanced Service Level Agreement (SLA) tracking module allows users to calculate the amount of downtime and associate this data with “revenue lost” penalties in realtime;

 Custom canvases and drag and drop capabilities allows users to design queries for external data sources including Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, MSSQL, and Postgres, to drive enhanced visualisation of virtually any critical business data that may be helpful in realtime decision making;

 Map-like views that present logical and geographical relationships between the infrastructure;

 Service-based root cause indicators allow users to immediately determine the infrastructure components causing a business service outage. These indicators show the infrastructure components that, if restored immediately, will put an end to the outage and restore the service to its operational state.

Availability, pricing information, analyst and customer references, and screen shots are available upon request. The Netcool/Dashboards family includes the following products: Netcool®/Desktop™, Netcool®/Portal™, Netcool®/Reporter™, Netcool®/RAD™ User Interface, Netcool®/TopoViz™, and Netcool®/Webtop™.
