Next-Generation Web solution helps manage and deliver rich media content on-line

AUSTRALIA, Sydney — 6 February 2007 — Vignette (NASDAQ: VIGN), the leading provider of Next-Generation Web solutions, today announced the immediate availability of the Vignette Digital Services Hub, which enables organisations to manage and deliver rich multi-media content to any Web-enabled device through a single unified framework. Digital Services Hub also provides tracking and analysis to ensure content reaches the intended audience with the desired effect. The initial offering targets telecommunications, media and entertainment companies that depend on differentiated and interactive content like streaming audio and video, movies, and advertisements to attract and retain customers.

“In the wireless industry alone, Yankee Group expects worldwide sales of content to grow from $31 billion in 2006 to roughly $60 billion by 2010,” said Sharon Ballard, analyst for Yankee Group. “As the demand for digital content expands, the need for solutions like Vignette’s Digital Services Hub will become increasingly critical. Communications and media companies must have the necessary infrastructure in place to effectively manage all types and formats of content to take advantage of this market opportunity and provide their customers a positive user experience when purchasing and viewing content.”

Digital Services Hub combines Vignette’s Next Generation Web solution with other industry-leading partners to provide a single, flexible application for collecting, managing, approving and delivering electronic assets and rich media to customers based on preferences, demographics and demonstrated interests. It brings content, commerce and community together across multiple channels and gives business owners the power to control the consumer experience, drive commerce models, reach desired communities and launch services quickly.

For example, British Sky Broadcasting (Sky), the most popular subscription television service in the UK and a leading triple play provider, is leveraging Vignette to deliver a fully integrated online entertainment experience to customers. Sky provides full eSales and eServicing through their online platform, along with a range of infotainment content services through Web and mobile channels, broadband SVOD TV, and community services for broadband customers. Sky has also rolled out cross-channel business services that allow Sky customers to access the electronic programming guide from any Internet-enabled device- cell phone, PDA or laptop- and schedule and record programming to watch at a later date.

“Vignette enables Sky to bring world-class programming and content to market quicker and across multiple channels while creating a personalised experience for our customers,” said Reehan Sheikh, Enterprise Architect, Digital Strategy and Architecture at News International, a sister company of Sky. “Vignette has helped bring the Web and TV closer together by offering innovative services and by giving our customers the ability to watch what they want, when they want and where they want with Sky Anytime IP SVOD service.”

Digital Services Hub combines Vignette’s world-class Next-Generation Web solution with industry leading technologies from the following go-to-market partners:

* Volantis- Optimised and personalised mobile content push, device detection and recognition and asset resolution software
* Valista- Merchandising, payments and settlement solutions
* SafeNet- Digital rights management for content protection and rights enforcement

To bring the solution to market, Vignette is working with global and local systems integrators including DPCI, Future Technologies, Inc., Hyperlink, iFactory, Informatica El Corte Ingles, ioko, Morse Group, Sapient, Stefanini, Tata Consultancy Services, Tallence and Virtusa.

“Consumers are increasingly turning to mobile applications, IPTV and other Web-enabled channels for engaging, interactive content. Unlike static Web pages, multimedia content can positively impact a company’s brand image and give that organisation an avenue to establish more personal connections with their customers,” said Leo Brunnick Senior Vice President of Products and Marketing at Vignette. “Right now, the greatest need for content management and delivery solutions like the Digital Services Hub is in the telco, media and entertainment space.
