Ingram Micro Named Distributor for NCR POS and Scanner Hardware

<p>SYDNEY- NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) today announced it has formed a strategic alliance with Ingram Micro, a leading global provider of technology products to the information and communications technology sector, to become a master distributor for a range of NCR RealPOS™ point-of-sale (POS) and NCR RealScan™ bar-code scanner products in Australia.</p>
<p>This means small-to-medium retail businesses (SMBs) in Australia will, for the first time, have access to a complete range of POS solutions that previously have been available only to large/multinational retailers. At the same time, enterprise retailers will have the option to pick and choose a range of state-of-the-art products and solutions to suit their business needs from two leading providers.</p>
<p>“This relationship provides a one-stop shop for Ingram Micro’s resellers who want to offer best-in-class POS solutions to their customers,” said Andrew Regan, Vice President, South Asia-Pacific, NCR Retail/Hospitality and Self-Service Solutions. “NCR’s suite of retail-hardened POS hardware options, combined with Ingram Micro’s proven-track record as a leading provider of IT products to the reseller community, provides retailers with the bottom-line benefits of cost-effective store automation solutions designed for ease of operation.”</p>
<p>Ingram Micro will offer a complete specialized distribution channel for resellers though a new Web site, imrapt.com.au, which will connect resellers of RFID/AIDC/POS hardware and software solutions with retailers. The website, an on-line community of both resellers and independent software vendors (ISV’s) promotes integration to bring complete solutions to small-to-medium retailers. Whilst providing SMB retailers with an advisory service on a range of topics, including technology pointers such as evaluating POS total cost of ownership, how to obtain EFTPOS/Merchant services and connects them with the companies that can meet their retail technology needs.</p>
