Wyse Unveils Smart Card Integration with Thin Clients

<p>New Smart Card Add-On Makes it Easier for Healthcare Organisations to Secure Access to Shared Workstations and Protect Patient Data</p>
<p>Sydney, Australia – 19 March 2007 - Wyse Technology, the global leader in thin computing, today announced its new SecureSC add-on for healthcare and other organisations looking to secure access to shared workstations while protecting patient data.</p>
<p>Wyse SecureSC add-on integrates with Citrix Password Manager ™and .NET smart card technology from Gemalto into the company's Microsoft Windows XPe thin clients, allowing healthcare workers to swiftly and securely access vital information without compromising on security. The add-on provides users with a secure single sign-on system for Microsoft Windows, Web-based and hosted applications while supporting the most popular ISO 7816 Class A and AB smart card standards. The new smart card add-on will be commercially available through Wyse channel partners in Q2 of 2007.</p>
<p>By combining Wyse thin clients with Citrix Password Manager™ and its Hot Desktop feature, healthcare organisations can safeguard shared workstations environments from security risks while streamlining information access utilising authentication and audit controls. In addition, the new security add-on works with Citrix SmoothRoaming™ technology which further enhances productivity by allowing users' sessions to move with them from one workstation to the next.</p>

<p>With Wyse SecureSC the whole process of logging on, logging out, managing password changes is easily controlled. Healthcare professionals simply swipe their smart card, type in a PIN, and they'll be up and running in seconds. Wyse Technology also supports integrated, keyboard and standalone smart card readers across its product line providing customers with even more flexibility.</p>

<p>This announcement also further strengthens the existing partnership between Wyse and Citrix. Earlier this year, Wyse announced its support of the Citrix Ready™ Initiative, which is designed to help customers identify the best third-party solutions that add the greatest value in Citrix driven environments.</p>
