HP Australia launches a state of the art digital camera for Australia's consumer photographers.

SYDNEY, Australia, 3 June 2004 Hewlett Packard (HP) has unveiled its latest consumer digital camera offering, the HP Photosmart R707 digital camera, turning its focus to ease-of-use and outstanding performance with advanced Real Life Technology features such as HP In Camera Red Eye Removal, the world's first in-camera red eye removal technique.

The HP Photosmart R707 digital camera combines the traditional SLR capabilities with functional automatic options, 5.1 megapixel resolution, 24x total zoom and 32 megabytes of internal storage in a sleek, ergonomically designed camera.

"The HP Photosmart R707's professional design matches its outstanding performance enabling home photographers to take striking digital images every time," said Guyon Collins, Consumer Marketing Manager, Imaging and Printing Group, HP.

Other HP improved Real Life Technology includes HP Adaptive Lighting, which allows users to automatically adjust high contrast images, bringing faces and details out of the shadows.

"HP's Real Life technologies ensure images are crisp, clear and vibrant. It makes the HP Photosmart R707 digital camera an essential component for recording family events and treasured moments and its ease of use ensures impromptu photo opportunities are never missed," added Collins.

The camera also allows up to five pictures to be previewed in camera for panorama composition using HP's In Camera Panorama Preview, and users needing advice can tap into HP's Image Advice for picture-taking tips.

Sharing and printing images has been simplified through HP's Instant Share technology, allowing users to select images on the camera, print and send them via email without the burden of large file attachments. The HP Photosmart R707 is also PictBridge compatible, allowing users to print to any PictBridge enabled printer.

The HP Photosmart R707 digital camera is the first of HP’s point and shoot digital cameras that features new design characteristics. These include a distinctive "wave finger" recess (an indentation on the front of the camera) enabling a sure, one handed grip.

The launch of the HP Photosmart R707 digital camera builds on HP's continued commitment to digital entertainment and technology and was launched as the 'Star' of the pre-screening HP party for the DreamWorks movie Shrek 2, on which HP worked to develop the cartoon animation.

The HP Photosmart R707 digital camera and HP Photosmart R-series camera dock are available now at $699 and $129 (RRP including GST), respectively.

It’s easy to set up, it’s compact and quiet when printing and to top if off, the print quality is excellent. This is hands down the best printer I’ve used for printing labels.
