Dimension Data’s Application Integration Team Set for Growth

Michelle Homes and Michael Harmelink appointed QLD and NSW practice managers

Dimension Data has announced the appointments of Michelle Homes and Michael Harmelink as application integration (AI) practice managers for Queensland and New South Wales, respectively.

Dimension Data’s AI practice is focused on Microsoft technologies, working both on custom development and repeatable, product-style solution sets for Australian client organisations in both government and corporate sectors.

Michelle and Michael are responsible for growing their AI practices, combining a traditional business development role with hands-on customer relationship building and product development responsibilities.

Michelle Homes began her career at the SAS Institute Australia as a technical specialist, moving on to roles including Web developer for GIO, consultant and director at TekEds and Asia-Pacific pre-sales technical consultant for Intergraph. Moving from purely technical roles to more strategic positions proved an easy transition and one that suited her mix of hands-on skills and ability to create and communicate solutions and opportunities for both clients and employers.

Most recently, Michelle was the business development manager at Futrix Software Australia. In this role she built relationships with the SAS Institute both in Australia and globally; provided support to partners and channel members; and was an account manager for Australian and New Zealand clients. In her spare time, she set up and maintained a CRM system and assisted with marketing and events.

Michelle is an energetic, outgoing person who enjoys spending time with her husband and black Labrador puppy, Ruby (named after the object-oriented programming language). A gadget-using, tech-loving go-getter who thrives on social activities and having fun with friends and family, Michelle brings great energy and enthusiasm to the team.
“The team is building its strength in the .NET and SharePoint spaces,” Michelle says. “I wanted to be part of that growth at a branch level and also nationally. I think I can add value there, on both the technical and the sales sides.”

Michael Harmelink has had a storied career in IT, working in senior business development roles at IBM and Alcatel in Europe, with Microsoft in Singapore and both Avenade and Snapdragon in Sydney. During his career to date, Michael has built up impressive experience across the contact centre, CRM and Web technology fields.

Michael not only brings his expertise in business development but also an extensive network of contacts, a close relationship with Microsoft and a friendly and professional approach to his work.
Michael is a keen surfer and kite surfer. He enjoys travelling around the world with his family and manages a website about their travels providing interactive multimedia content. His adventurous nature and adaptability are great assets for the Application Integration team.

“I wanted to work at a Microsoft partner who has proved successful not just locally, but globally,” Michael explains. “Dimension Data is uniquely positioned to deliver a complete solution to its clients.”

“We’ve seen an incredible surge in interest for the information management solutions Dimension Data brings to the market, and it was critical to get some practice managers on board who could take the application integration business to the next level,” says Peter Menadue, general manager, application integration, Dimension Data.

“Michelle has some great industry experience and I think she’ll really raise our profile in the application integration market in Queensland.”

“When we first met Michael, it was pretty clear he was a good fit for the role – he knows the market and really understands the issues we’re facing in terms of growing our business.”

I need power and lots of it. As a Front End Web developer anything less just won’t cut it which is why the MSI GT75 is an outstanding laptop for me. It’s a sleek and futuristic looking, high quality, beast that has a touch of sci-fi flare about it.

If you can afford the price tag, it is well worth the money. It out performs any other laptop I have tried for gaming, and the transportable design and incredible display also make it ideal for work.
