ELDERS CHOOSES MAPINFO ANYSITE TO PROVIDE COMPETITIVE TELCO SERVICES TO THE BUSH

 • 03 April, 2007 12:09

Sydney, 3 April 2007 - MapInfo Corporation (Nasdaq: MAPS), the leading global provider of location intelligence solutions, today announced that Elders, one of Australia’s oldest and largest agribusinesses, has chosen MapInfo’s AnySite location intelligence solution to help it provide competitive telecommunications services to customers in rural and remote areas.

Elders purchased MapInfo Professional for mapping and geographic analysis, along with MapInfo AnySite for demographic analysis. MapInfo AnySite integrates population data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics which helps Elders’ business analysts understand the demographic profiles of its rural customer base and assess potential customer demand and capacity requirements.

Although Elders was new to location intelligence software, it has quickly embraced the MapInfo solutions for their ability to provide new insights into its customer data.

MapInfo’s Director of Strategic Industries, Sean Richards, said: “MapInfo’s location intelligence software will be an important business enabler as Elders goes forward, helping it to improve the level of service it provides to its customers. Elders has already used the territory modelling approach with its branch offices, dividing up sales territories and calculating its headcount requirements and service capacity.”

Mr Richards said AnySite has been designed for business analysts and decision makers and is intuitive enough not to require specialist business intelligence skills or experience.

“AnySite puts advanced location intelligence capabilities into the hands of business users, allowing them to generate a wide range of maps and reports to meet their needs, including Summary, Detail, Comparative Analysis and Location Reports to compare site performance against existing trade characteristics.
