Vignette Delivers Next-Generation of Online Customer Experiences

Latest portal release enables more meaningful connections with end-users

AUSTRALIA, Sydney — 10 April 2007 — Vignette today announced the worldwide availability of its latest Vignette Portal release. A key component of Vignette’s Next-Generation Web solution, Vignette Portal enables many of the world’s largest organisations to maximise customer touch points and deliver a highly personalised experience in line with customers’ requirements, desires and past behaviours.

“Investing in the online customer experience is becoming an increasingly important priority for enterprise organisations, as the Web becomes a more mature and reliable method for connecting businesses with end-users,” said David Gootzit, analyst at Gartner. “By improving the online experience, organisations can encourage customer loyalty and positively impact revenue growth.”

Vignette Portal builds on the company’s rich history in delivering Next-Generation customer experiences. Enhanced features include:

· Support for leading-edge Web 2.0 technologies like mashups and AJAX · Enhanced personalisation through multi-language support
· Federated search capabilities, enabling users to query a wide range of internal and external data sources, including Microsoft Exchange, Google, Yahoo and Lotus Notes
· Customisable URLs to help drive traffic and improve search engine optimisation · Advanced dashboard capabilities

For example, the University of Utah leverages Vignette Portal to more effectively connect with its student body of nearly 30,000. Vignette provides the backbone for the my.utah.edu (http://my.utah.edu/) Web portal, enabling students to create their own personalised Web site – right down to the look and feel – complete with relevant information that can be customised and arranged according to user preferences.

“The University of Utah Web site contains hundreds of thousands of unique content items provided by more than 90 decentralised academic departments across campus,” said Paula Millington, director of Media Solutions at the University of Utah. “Vignette enables us to take a more targeted approach to connecting with our students by allowing them to create customised Web pages tailored to their individual education and recreational requirements.”

“Now more than ever, a customer’s first interaction with an enterprise organisation happens over the Web. This is when initial opinions are formed and important decisions are made, so it’s vital for organisations to make the experience positive and memorable,” said Leo Brunnick, senior vice president of Products and Marketing at Vignette. “Our Next-Generation Web solutions help organisations drive that experience through the management and dynamic delivery of business content to multiple Web channels and devices.”
