• 26 April, 2007 15:59

(Media Contacts: Terry Quinn 0439 710 418; gotalk CEO Steve Picton 0416 269 177; Maurice Famularo, D-Link Australia 0418 677 551)

• D-Link, the $1.13 Billion worldwide leading designer, developer and manufacturer of Networking, Connectivity, Voice and Data communications products for mass consumer, small to medium business and enterprise market segments is to partner with fast growing Australian telco gotalk limited to jointly market, advertise, Dlink ATA and selected modems which will be preconfigured with gotalk settings. According to gotalk CEO Steve Picton, the relationship will cover a wide range of Broadband and VoIP products as well as joint development of future telecommunications bundles.

• The companies will also cooperate in joint trade shows and other channel promotions according top Picton and D-Link’s Maurice Famularo.

• The “Preferred Partner” alliance is part of gotalk’s “diversification growth strategy” following its recent launch of its ADSL1 and ADSL2+ services, an exclusive music download/ringtone deal with the world’s largest music company Universal Music (also for Australia and NZ), and a dramatic change to its direct distributor model, signing agreements with Blue Chip Infotech, Ingram Micro and Synnex Australia.
During CeBIT , gotalk specialists will demonstrate gotalk’s latest ADSL1 and ADSL2+ offers on the D-Link Stand E20 each day at 12:00 – 12:15 (“VoIP finds a friend in ADSL2+”) and 3:00 – 3:15 (“Is ADSL(1) dead?”).

According to gotalk the concept behind their broadband strategy is that they recommend that customers who cannot yet get ADSL2+ (because of their location) sign up onto the ADSL (1) plan – and when ADSL2+ becomes available in their area they will then be offered a FREE upgrade.
gotalk's ADSL2+ and ADSL (1) plans are identical EXCEPT FOR THE SPEED.
