NETGEAR’s newest wireless Ethernet Bridge arrives in Australia

 • 02 September, 2003 16:44

Sydney, Australia (2 September, 2003) - NETGEAR, a leading provider of high-performance networking products for homes and small and medium sized businesses, has launched the WGE101, the newest of their wireless Ethernet Bridge products.

The WGE101 gives wired networks the wireless advantage, enabling older Ethernet products, unlikely to have USB points, to be integrated into modern wireless data networks. The WGE101 plugs into the Ethernet port on PCs and other computing devices, creating a bridge to the wireless network, enabling uninterrupted wireless network access. Additionally, where the original ME101 Ethernet Bridge only supported 802.11b products, the WGE101 is fully compatible with both 802.11b and 802.11g devices, offering fast 54mps wireless access with a greater range and more consistent coverage.

The product also offers:

· Highly-secure 40/64-bit and 128-bit WEP encryption
· A powerful detachable antenna, providing access at greater distances
· Sleek, wall mountable design

The NETGEAR WGE101 Wireless Ethernet Bridge is also ideal for use with Ethernet enabled gaming consoles, providing high-speed internet access for the emerging ‘live’ gaming arena.

The WGE101 is available through value-added resellers across Australia and comes with a user guide, power adapter, category 5 cable, resource CD and NETGEAR's 3-year warranty. The RRP (including GST) is $279.

A high-resolution image of the WGE101 is available at:

It’s easy to set up, it’s compact and quiet when printing and to top if off, the print quality is excellent. This is hands down the best printer I’ve used for printing labels.
