DrayTek releases new firmware for Vigor 2800 ADSL2/2+ routers to work with 3.5G mobile broadband

  • 21 July, 2007 11:58

<p>During CeBIT Australia in May 2007, DrayTek showed off the Vigor2910 series Dual-WAN broadband routers working with 3.5G mobile broadband USB modems. Now, DrayTek have released a new firmware, v2.8, for their business grade Vigor2800 series ADSL2/2+ routers, which allows the user to have an additional back up Internet access with 3.5G mobile broadband USB modems.
There will be plenty of applications for this new function. For example, if you have IP based systems, such as IP surveillance, IP PBX, etc., running at your office, and if your ADSL line is down somehow, within 30 seconds your Vigor2800 ADSL router will evoke the backup connection via the 3.5G USB modem to keep your system going. When your ADSL line comes back to life, the 3.5G USB link will drop out automatically until it is called upon again.
Another scenario is when you move house/office, now you don't have to suffer the problems of not having internet accesses while you wait for weeks, for the PSTN connection, the ISP connection, etc. Instead you will have an instant mobile broadband connection from the 3.5G USB modem connected on your Vigor2800 router with the v2.8 firmware.
Current 3.5G mobile broadband providers include Telstra, Optus, Three, Vodaphone, etc.
This feature will be available not only to future Vigor2800 users, all existing users can also upgrade to this new firmware from here: . More info on 3.5G USB modem is listed on
This is yet another feature that DrayTek have brought in based on the feedback and request of their world wide user groups.</p>

It’s easy to set up, it’s compact and quiet when printing and to top if off, the print quality is excellent. This is hands down the best printer I’ve used for printing labels.

The print quality also does not disappoint, it’s clear, bold, doesn’t smudge and the text is perfectly sized.
