Getting digital video from one device to another can be a hassle, but a Massachusetts software company thinks it has the answer.
Bamboo Technology's Vault 360 is capable of converting video, audio and pictures from one source to another. On its own that's not such a big deal, but Vault 360 contains profiles of many popular devices, so rather than choosing your intended format, you chose your intended device.
"As long as you as you can get it into your PC we can recognize that content and convert it for output onto any device," said Jim Adams, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Bamboo, during a presentation at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas Saturday.
To convert video users have to identify the original clip, choose an output device and click the start button. The software is available in two versions. "Vault 360" is compatible with Apple Computer's video iPod, Sony Computer Entertainment's PlayStation Portable (PSP) and Creative Technology's Zen Vision and costs US$30. Vault 360 Premium expands support to smart phones, multimedia players, portable digital assistants and other similar devices.
"We'll soon be out on Mac, I promise it will be out by mid-year this year," said Adams. "We've been asked to do that by lots of folks so we're going to deliver that and we're going to continue to add devices every week. Every week there will be new updates where we automatically add devices."
CES runs from Monday until Thursday.
