Telstra introduces new Next G mobile broadband cards, extends Australian Next G coverage

Telstra today launched their latest mobile broadband cards for the home and office

Telstra today launched their latest mobile broadband cards for the home and office, claiming to deliver burst download speeds of up to 6Mbps and upload speeds of up to 1.3Mbps.

The notebook cards are marketed as Telstra Mobile Turbocards for business users, and BigPond Wireless Broadband 7.2 cards for regular consumers. Existing Next G data cards are upgradeable to the new download speeds, while speeds are also set to be increased on Next G mobile handsets.

The new mobile broadband cards offer typical download speeds of between 550Kbps and 3Mbps, while upload speeds average between 300Kbps to 1Mbps. The new cards are available in either ExpressCard or USB form, and both come packaged with an external antenna to enhance wireless reception. Prior to the launch, the previous Next G cards offered peak speeds of 3Mbps.

Telstra also announced that Next G coverage has been extended to various Australian locations including the coldest town in Australia, Cradle Mountain, the hottest town in Australia, Marble Bar and across the Bass Strait. The Next G network currently covers 98.8 per cent of the Australian population.

It’s easy to set up, it’s compact and quiet when printing and to top if off, the print quality is excellent. This is hands down the best printer I’ve used for printing labels.
