HTC appoints John Featherstone as managing director Australia and New Zealand

 • 18 September, 2007 11:53

Sydney, AUSTRALIA – 18 September 2007 – HTC, the world's leading provider of Microsoft® Windows Mobile®-based smart devices, has appointed John Featherstone as managing director, Australia and New Zealand.

In this position, Featherstone is responsible for promoting HTC’s value proposition to the telecommunications community, driving the company’s continued growth, establishing and developing sales channels, professional service operations and strategic alliances within the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Based in Sydney, Featherstone will concentrate on growing the business in Australia and New Zealand, overseeing a number of new product initiatives in 2007 and 2008.

Featherstone previously spent five years with O2 Online Limited driving business growth in Asia, running a highly successful sales team across South East Asia and developing and implementing through the line integrated marketing and communications programs in Asia & the Middle East. This experience will ensure a smooth transition to HTC during a time of high growth for the company.

HTC has robust plans for this financial year and Featherstone will be instrumental in leading these initiatives. “HTC is going through a very exciting time,” Featherstone said.

“2007 is a period of transition for HTC, as we're now a couple months into the acquisition of Dopod and a year into opening an office in Australia. We’re moving further into the financial sector, offering a strong range of products and mobility solutions, as well as expanding our presence across the Pacific region. These new projects will open up a large number of additional opportunities whilst we continue to foster existing partner relationships. I’m confident we will go from strength to strength in the Australian and New Zealand regions as a result.

“I’m looking forward to working closely with our partners. We have a great team that is totally committed to delivering first class solutions and support to our customers. With this focus across the business, we are well positioned for continued success,” Featherstone said.
