<p>Well known CIO now to offer META Group clients IT guidance</p>
<p>SYDNEY, Australia, (Sept 9, 2003) – META Group (Nasdaq: METG) a leading information technology (IT) research and consulting firm, today announced that well known and respected CIO Mary Ann Maxwell has joined the company as a VP of Executive Directions for META Group operating in Australia, New Zealand and selected APAC countries. Executive Directions is a member of META Groups subject-specific advisory services, providing guidance for speeding executive decisions and driving IT/business value.</p>
<p>Ms Maxwell has over 30 years of USA-based IT industry experience, commencing as a programmer /analyst, moving to senior systems analyst, then to corporate support services and CIO roles. She has specific expertise in the financial services, insurance, health, consumer product and telecommunications industries. In January 2000 Ms Maxwell joined Westpac Banking Corporation in Sydney as CIO and later CTO, a position she held until joining META Group.</p>

<p>Ms Maxwell has held senior CxO roles in companies such as Countrywide Credit Industries, Health Net and Zenith Insurance Company in the USA. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University and an MBA in management from Pepperdine University in USA and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.</p>
