Tumbleweed appoints Sigma 5 as its latest channel partner for Australia

 • 19 March, 2008 12:27

“Tumbleweed® Communications Corp. (NASDAQ: TMWD), an industry leader in managed file transfer and email security, today appointed Australia-based Sigma 5 as its latest channel partner in the Tumbleweed Alliance Program (TAP) for the Asia Pacific region. The appointment of another TAP channel partner will continue the expansion of Tumbleweed solutions across a broad range of vertical markets in Australia.

"Sigma 5 is confident that the inclusion of Tumbleweed messaging security solutions into our product range will deliver a new level of support for our client base and the South Australian business sector,” said Mr. Benjamin Baran, Director, Sigma 5.

He continued, “With almost a decade of experience with various email content filtering products and their application, our view of Tumbleweed's MailGate product is that it is able to deliver the most comprehensive level of email content filtering with a powerful but intuitive administrative interface. It allows businesses to enforce corporate policies and meet compliance requirements, without a lengthy or complex deployment process.”

Tumbleweed’s award-winning suite of email security and managed file transfer products include MailGate® for comprehensive email security, Secure Messenger™ for email encryption, and SecureTransport™ for managed file transfer. MailGate is one of the most robust, effective and easy-to-manage systems available. It features exceptional content filtering and data loss prevention capabilities, while protecting enterprises of all sizes against virus outbreaks, botnets, spam and denial-of-service attacks. In fact, MailGate’s Intelligent Edge Defense effectively eliminates up to 90 percent of email traffic before it can penetrate the corporate email infrastructure.

Tumbleweed to continue growth in Australia

For Tumbleweed’s Regional Vice President Asia Pacific and Japan, Mr. Stree Naidu, the addition of Sigma 5 will further expand the company’s solutions across local reseller channels in the Australian market.

“Organisations in Asia Pacific are following global trends of increasingly upgrading their email security solutions – beyond in-bound threat protection against spam and viruses, outbound protection is increasingly important to organisations looking to prevent data loss. Our partner network is evolving to support these regional business demands,” outlined Mr. Naidu.

”The addition of Sigma 5 further extends our footprint in the Australian business marketplace. Our growing partner network positions us to effectively maintain our position as the leading provider of both email security and managed file transfer solutions.”

The channel friendly Tumbleweed Alliance Program allows qualified security resellers to sell the Tumbleweed email security, file transfer security and identity validation products with exceptional program benefits and product margins. Benefits include ease of adoption; favourable margins; outstanding growth opportunity and innovative customer focused programs.
