• 25 March, 2008 15:23

Australia, Sydney. – March 25, 2008 -- NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) today announced that Gartner, Inc., positioned it in the "Leaders" quadrant for Enterprise NAS. In a recently released research note, "Magic Quadrant for Midrange and High-End NAS Solutions, 1H08,"1 Gartner asserts, "An enterprise NAS storage vendor in the Leaders quadrant has the market share, credibility, and marketing and sales capabilities needed to drive the acceptance of new technologies. It demonstrates understanding of market needs, is an innovator and thought leader, and has well-articulated plans that customers and prospects can use when designing their storage infrastructures and strategies."

"We are very proud of our long history of creating innovative solutions that help our customers fulfil their enterprise NAS needs, achieve new business benefits, and overcome limitations," said NetApp President and Chief Operating Officer Tom Georgens. "By working collaboratively with our NAS customers, we are enabling them to experience business breakthroughs that increase performance, decrease costs, and simplify manageability in the data centre.”

With NetApp® NAS solutions, customer companies of all sizes can benefit by gaining powerful, flexible features and capabilities to use inside their data centres every day. NetApp NAS systems simultaneously offer native support for file serving and sharing over NFS and CIFS, which enables customers to seamlessly consolidate multiple file servers for UNIX® and Windows® environments and different workloads on a single NAS platform. These systems can also simultaneously support SAN capabilities, allowing customers to go beyond consolidating their storage onto a single platform, and provide them with the scalability, flexibility, and performance they need to go further, faster.
