Cisco Executive Joins Allied Technologies

<p>· ALLIED TECHNOLOGIES APPOINTS NEW CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER TO ASSIST IN CONTINUING GROWTH.</p>
<p>· Tony Simonsen, formerly Director – Advanced Services, Asia Pacific, Cisco Systems Inc – will be Sydney based but will have national responsibility for the delivery of Allied's products and services.</p>
<p>CANBERRA, Tuesday Feb. 22: Mr. Ray Doak, Managing Director and CEO of Allied Technologies Group (ASX: ATZ) today announced the appointment of Mr Tony Simonsen to the position of Chief Operations Officer (COO) for the expanding Group - a publicly listed Australian company which operates nationally with 300 staff and specialises in enterprise ICT solutions.</p>
<p>"Tony will have responsibility for the day to day operations of Allied Technologies Australia which is the business unit, within the Group, that delivers both Infrastructure and Convergent technology solutions." Mr Doak went on to say. "We are looking forward to Tony joining our Executive team and believe that he has the relevant experience and skills to assist in achieving continuous improvement and driving further efficiencies throughout the organisation. He has been chartered with ensuring that our Professional Services group achieves its’ full potential within the enterprise ICT market space."</p>
<p>The Allied Technologies Group is comprised of three distinct operational businesses: Allied Technologies Australia, ServicePoint Australia and TUSC Computer Systems.</p>
<p>· ATA specialises in the design, integration, installation and maintenance of active and passive communications infrastructure integral to data, voice, and video networks.</p>
<p>· TUSC specialises in software integration services for complex network management applications targeting the telecommunications, utilities, and enterprise sectors.</p>
<p>· Servicepoint is a specialist provider of secure and non-secure 3rd-party videoconferencing and video messaging systems and solutions and the provision of related managed services to government and corporate sectors.</p>
<p>Mr. Simonsen has some 24 years of experience in the ICT industry in operations, service delivery, sales and marketing and business development. He has professional qualifications in Personnel Management, Industrial relations, Strategy and Management.</p>
<p>Previously with Cisco Systems from 1997 to 2004, with his later role as Director – Advanced Services, Asia Pacific where he was responsible for their multi million dollar Professional Services Practice. This involved initially establishing and then growing this practice, leading a team of highly skilled and technical, project management and business development staff engaged in providing leading technology solutions to the Enterprise and Service Provider market.</p>
