• 19 May, 2008 12:35

SYDNEY, May 19, 2008 — Acronis® Inc. (http://www.acronis.com.au), a provider of affordable, scalable storage management and disaster recovery software, today announced Acronis True Image for Microsoft Small Business Server, an application that enables small to mid-size businesses running Microsoft SBS to backup and restore both physical and virtual servers. To offer greater value to SMBs, Acronis has bundled this Small Business Server backup application with the highly acclaimed Acronis Universal Restore, a program that allows users to restore an image to entirely different hardware.

Acronis True Image for Microsoft SBS is purpose-built to meet the needs of SMBs and designed to provide all of the capabilities offered to large enterprises. With critical features like full, incremental and differential backup, this powerful product will take a complete server disk image including operating system, application, settings, and data files. It has a wizard driven interface that allows non-IT staff to perform a backup and system recovery with little or no training. Bundled with Acronis Universal Restore, Acronis True Image for Microsoft SBS enables SMBs to migrate their systems between any virtual and physical servers quickly and easily. If a server crashes, companies can perform the entire server restore in just minutes.

“Acronis True Image for Microsoft Small Business Server is the latest addition to Acronis' portfolio of business-class backup and recovery, migration and virtualisation product families. It provides SMBs with enterprise-level protection at a price that any small business can afford. Acronis True Image for MS SBS and Acronis Universal Restore together make a more comprehensive and flexible solution for SMBs in ANZ to protect their server operating systems and digital assets,” said Bill Taylor-Mountford, General Manager of Acronis ANZ. “Acronis is committed to offering the best-of-breed solutions to the market. As Microsoft SBS is one of the most widely used IT systems among SMBs, we expect that Acronis True Image for Microsoft SBS will bring real value to our channel partners and SMBs in Australia and New Zealand.”

John Couvaras, Managing Director of Datastor, said, “Small and medium businesses are a strategic engine of our Australian economy and comprise at least 80% of local businesses. In today's age, the need for every business to protect their data and information grows year by year. With the new Acronis True Image for Microsoft SBS, we are now even better equipped to deliver this need through our reseller network.
