JBL's micro iPod speaker docks

At the CEDIA trade show Friday, Harman International subsidiary, JBL, has launched slimmed down versions of its current US$300 Radial and US$160 On Stage iPod II docking station/speaker systems.

The new $150 Radial Micro and US$100 On Stage Micro speaker docks are both equipped with infrared remotes for track selection, navigation and the like, and the latter can be powered by four AAA batteries.

JBL only had fake, wooden iPods at its stand, so I didn't get a chance to use or hear the units, but on appearances alone, they look to be of decent quality. (I'm hoping to test some units, find out how they compare to their full-sized brethren, and let you know my thoughts before they launch in November).

JBL also had a few other interesting new audio products, including its US$100 Spyro 2.1-channel speakers. Fitted with a 3.5mm audio jack (for connection with notebooks, desktops, MP3 players etc), the system features a striking, dome-shaped, 24-watt subwoofer.
