Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac is Released to Manufacturing!

<p>Microsoft Australia’s Macintosh Business Unit (MacBU) today announced that Microsoft Office® 2004 for Mac will be released to manufacturing (RTM) on April 14, 2004. The company also announced more Office 2004 for Mac features designed to help users create enhanced documents with new templates in PowerPoint® 2004, smart buttons in Word® 2004 and Excel® 2004, and improved charting tools in Excel 2004.</p>
<p>“The MacBU has been heavily focused through research, development and testing to build a new version of Office for Mac that helps our customers work smarter and be more productive,” said Cynthia Kouvatas, Microsoft Australia’s home and entertainment division product marketing manager. “Customer feedback on early versions of Office 2004 for Mac has been very positive and we are excited about this significant milestone which brings us one step closer to the date for its release.”</p>
<p>Six localised versions (French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Swedish) of Office 2004 for Mac will reach RTM in the following weeks and the product is set for launch by the third week of May.</p>
<p>Developed specifically for Mac users, Office 2004 is designed to help customers work smarter – providing new tools to help users effortlessly manage information, share ideas and create with confidence. New features announced include:</p>
<p>• Charting Improvements in Excel 2004: New charting tools make quantum leaps in helping create amazing charts and graphs.</p>
<p>• Smart Buttons in Word and Excel 2004: Buttons that give unprecedented control over powerful automatic functions in Word or Excel documents.</p>
<p>• New Design Templates, Animations, and Transitions in PowerPoint 2004: More than 100 brand-new design templates and new, smoother transitions and animations.</p>
<p>• Save as Picture in Office: Allows users to save objects drawn in Office as separate graphics files.</p>
<p>• Soft Shadows in Office: New, fully adjustable Soft Shadows add a measure of elegance to every document.</p>
