IronPort Systems Powers Ahead with Local Growth

<p>Extends channel and customer commitment with the appointment of Manager, Southern Region</p>
<p>IronPort Systems, the market share leader in email security, today announced the appointment of John Martens in the newly created role of Manager, Southern Region.</p>
<p>In the role, Martens will take responsibility for developing new business opportunities and building on the company’s relationships with customers and partners. His primary focus will be growing the channel partner base for IronPort, concentrating on signing up security capable resellers and those with dedicated security practices. Martens’ region encompasses Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia and Tasmania.</p>
<p>Previously, Martens was Managing Director of Data Systems International, Asia Pacific for five years where he was instrumental in the sale and delivery of a multi-million dollar wireless data collection deal to the Canadian Department of Defense. Martens also founded the software company Group 42 which he ran and then successfully sold after 13 years.</p>
<p>Announcing the appointment, Mike Bosch, Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand for IronPort Systems said, “John’s appointment highlights our continued strong growth in this region and will see us expand our channel and customer base. Because of our 100 per cent channel-focused sales model, John’s role will ensure an even higher-level of direct touch with our customers to help our resellers achieve stronger sales.”</p>
<p>Martens is a keen big game fisherman and in his ‘time out’ can be found fishing up to 200km off the coast of Queensland.
