RADicode converts REALbasic projects into PowerPlant

If you're a REALbasic fan who uses the development environment as a prototyping tool, you may want to check out RADicode 1.0 from Solidwave Software, a product that converts REALbasic projects into PowerPlant projects.

The rapid application development tool is designed to save weeks, "even months," of application development time, according to SolidWave Software founder Brad McKesson. RADicode bridges the gap between the GUI (graphical user interface) capabilities of REALbasic and the flexibility of PowerPlant. PowerPlant is Metrowerks' popular C++ class library for the Mac platform.

RADicode implements the standard Mac user interface behavior such as Quit, New, Close, Cut and Paste. The code created by RADicode follows PowerPlant's best practices, conventions and guidelines, McKesson said. Defensive programming techniques are used "generously" throughout the code via asserts, object validation and exception handling, he added.

RADicode also offers derezed resources for easier editing of generated resources; targets for 68K, PPC, Carbon and FAT; and a debug menu for leak checking, memory and resource validation. For a limited time, you can buy RADicode for US$149.95. It can be downloaded at the Solidwave Software Web site.
