MRO Software signs reseller agreement with UtilityAP

Extends opportunity in New Zealand’s deregulated utility market

SYDNEY – 5 March 2004 - MRO Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: MROI), the leading provider of strategic asset management solutions, and UtilityAP, a software implementation and consulting company specialising in solutions for the utilities sector, today announced an agreement in which UtilityAP will resell MRO Software’s MAXIMO product to the deregulated utility industry in New Zealand.

The agreement with UtilityAP will enhance MRO Software's position in the utility and infrastructure sectors of New Zealand, by providing consulting services around business process and transformation strategy to customers such as electricity, water and gas utilities, health, ports, councils and contracting businesses.

"The perception of MRO Software in the markets it services is leading edge product backed by very professional services, and we wanted to be associated with that," said Maarten van der Zeyden, partner of UtilityAP Limited. "We’ve known about MAXIMO for some time and when the solution migrated to a web-architected version we saw some real benefits with this approach, specifically for utilities."

“Asset businesses are enhancing the way they run their assets. Emergent business models and changes in regulatory requirements are driving the need for better lifecycle asset information and smart tools for managing maintenance and resources. MAXIMO’s modern web-architected product supports these requirements,” Maarten concluded.

UtilityAP’s team of consulting and IT professionals are experienced in best practice solutions for high demand areas, particularly asset, financial and maintenance management. This deep experience ensures they have the capability to provide software support and implementation services to support MRO Software’s capabilities in New Zealand’s utility sector.

"A reseller agreement with UtilityAP was a logical expansion as they bring line of business expertise and knowledge that will help to expand MAXIMO in the New Zealand utilities sector,” said Adrian Hocking, sales manager, Australia and New Zealand for MRO Software. "They have strong relationships with all of the major utilities companies and by working together we are able to enhance the services levels to the customer base."
