Sydney Australia – 27 June 2005 - 3Com Corporation has appointed Ralph Stadus as its new managing director for Australia and New Zealand.

Ralph has been consulting to 3Com in Asia Pacific since February this year. It is the exciting opportunity of growth for 3Com as it rolls out its Secure, Converged Networks strategy that has seen Ralph join the team in a full-time leadership role. Ralph’s focus is on ensuring an aggressive roll out of 3Com’s Secure Converged Networks strategy, especially as the convergence of voice onto Australian business networks increases.

Ralph has 27 years in the IT industry and has worked in senior management roles with Digital, Dell and most recently as the general manager of Toshiba in Australia and New Zealand. He is well-known in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Ralph Stadus commented, “I have always wanted to manage a start up, and 3Com is a 25 year old start up. 3Com has a new and exciting strategy which answers customers’ needs for next-generation networking. This third generation of networking addresses the need to prioritise different traffic on the network, depending on the critical nature of each individual application be it voice or data. Most importantly, it deals with security and reliability needs as the network increasingly becomes the essential core of organisational operations.”

Stanimira Koleva, vice president and general manager of 3Com Asia Pacific said, “Our Australia and New Zealand team is in a strong position locally and well poised to move forward as 3Com rolls out its global strategy, led by differentiated security and convergence solutions. Ralph, whose leadership credentials and global expertise make him the ideal person for this role, will lead the local team into its next phase of growth.”
