Sega announces Stormrise for Xbox 360, PS3 in 2009

Sega Thursday announced a new console game for RTS fans, from the same studio that developed the Total War series.

"Stormrise has been built from the ground up specifically for high def consoles to provide a more intense, frenetic style," said marketing director Gary Knight, upon announcing the game. "Coupled with an all new control mechanic, it will revolutionize the way RTS games are played."

According to Sega, Stormrise promises infantry control "from the front line, instead of the traditional way of controlling the units from a detached view point." Additionally, units can be commanded in the air, on dangerously high rooftops (fingers crossed), and even underground.

If you like real-time strategy games, notably the Total War series, and own either an Xbox 360 or PS3, then you might want to put this title on your radar.

Stormrise is scheduled for release sometime in 2009.

If you can afford the price tag, it is well worth the money. It out performs any other laptop I have tried for gaming, and the transportable design and incredible display also make it ideal for work.
