During Microsoft's E3 2008 briefing, Microsoft VP Shane Kim Tuesday confirmed that the upcoming downloadable expansion for Grand Theft Auto IV would be coming "later this year." The new confirmation is important, as recent rumors have suggested that Rockstar's exclusive Xbox 360 downloadable content would be delayed as late as early 2009.

Kim's statement seems to contradict those rumors, once again planting the new Grand Theft Auto IV expansion content as a 2008 release. This expansion is exclusive the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV, and it's not yet known whether PlayStation 3 owners will get exclusive GTAIV downloadable content of their own.
