At less than A$5,500, the Lexmark C752 leads the way in office functionality and affordability

SYDNEY, 13 April 2004 – Lexmark today announced the Lexmark C752, the most functional and affordable colour laser printer in its category, priced at A$5,451.60 including GST. Lexmark also announced the X752e multifunction printer (MFP), which consolidates high-performance printing, copying, faxing and scanning capabilities into a single, space-saving colour laser device, priced from A$17,545.00 including GST.

The Lexmark C752 can be customised to meet individual customer requirements and with numerous paper-handling and networking options, is specifically designed to meet the diverse printing needs of large and medium-sized businesses. This versatility underscores Lexmark’s “Right Fit” philosophy of aligning product functionality to meet a specific customer printing requirement. Lexmark’s “Right Fit” philosophy ensures increased speed of business, reduced document production expenditure, improved service delivery to users and the facilitation of the electronic office.

“The infusion of colour in business documents can create a competitive edge, which is one of the reasons why there is a growing demand for colour printing in the workplace” Graham Kittle, General Manager, Enterprise, Corporate and Government, Lexmark Australia and New Zealand. “With the number of colour impressions being created in offices each year, Lexmark’s focus is to give our enterprise customers easy to use laser devices that provide vivid colour printing at an affordable price.”

The Lexmark C752’s additional key attributes include:

High performance: The Lexmark C752 prints in colour and mono at up to 19 pages per minute.

Versatility: Among its peers in the market, the Lexmark C752 offers the widest media-handling range available, including challenging print media such as vinyl labels and the largest optional input and output maximum paper capacity. The Lexmark C752 is the only laser printer in its class with an optional 3,000-sheet finisher and envelope feeder. It can also be upgraded to the Lexmark X752e with full print/copy/fax/scan/email functionality.

Quality, Reliability and Ease-of-Use: The Lexmark C752 features true 1200 dpi resolution and a range of colour quality features that allow customers to customise the colour output specifically to their requirements. The Lexmark C752 is the only colour laser printer in the industry rated for one million lifetime pages.
Lexmark X752e Colour Laser MFP

Building from the award-winning heritage of Lexmark’s colour laser printer and MFP solutions, the Lexmark X752e colour MFP provides printing, copying, scanning and faxing in a single device. The Lexmark X752e includes a 50-page automatic document feeder, providing single-pass duplex colour scanning, a 33.6 Kpbs fax, and a 10/100 Ethernet network connection.

Through the Lexmark X752e’s simple to use intuitive touch-screen interface, customers can easily access the most commonly used functions, customise standard functions and integrate 3rd party solutions such as Lexmark’s Document Solutions Suite.

The C752 and X752e are both appealing offerings for CIOs and CFOs as they deliver attractive price points, high performance and money-saving colour printing features. The key elements that provide enterprises with added control over colour printing costs are:

‘ColorSaver’. This mode reduces colour toner in images and graphics while preserving crisp text, delivering ‘office quality’ and reduced printing costs.

‘Toner Darkness Settings’. Up to 50% savings on printing costs can be achieved via the five user selectable levels of toner darkness on the C752. This provides customers with the ability to determine the best compromise of print quality and cost.

‘Coverage Estimator’. The Lexmark Coverage Estimator provides users with an indication of the toner coverage on any printed page. This estimation of toner coverage can be used to calculate an approximate cost, allowing customers to discover for themselves that printing colour documents on colour laser printers is frequently an economical way to create these documents.

‘Monochrome print lock’. Authorised IT personnel can turn the C752 into a black and white only printer for a specified period of time, specific job, or specific group of users. In this mode, all documents, no matter their origin, will print in black and white.

‘Proof Then Print’. The user can print a proofing page prior to printing multiple copies to ensure the document is accurate. If OK, the user can simply press the “Go” button on the printer to print the remainder of the copies.

The Lexmark C752 and X752e are available immediately in Australia. More information about these products can be found at www.lexmark.com.au
