Sony reveals new 80 GB PS3 bundles for Japan

The model will be bundled with a Dual Shock 3, and retails for about US$400.

According to a leaked report at Japanese gaming mag Famitsu, Sony will soon release the 80GB PlayStation 3 model in Japan in black, white and silver varieties.

The model will be bundled with a Dual Shock 3, and retails for about US$400. Sony will include Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Spec III as a pack-in game.

A second bundle will see the 80GB model packaged with two controllers and a copy of LittleBigPlanet. Called the "PlayStation 3 LittleBigPlanet Dream Box," this bundle will retail for about $450.

A separate Dual Shock 3 controller-only bundle will also feature LittleBigPlanet as a pack-in, for about $80. The controller's color will match the system offerings, with black, white and silver available for purchase.

All of these bundles are Japan-only for now, but we see no reason why Sony wouldn't transfer them over to the US, as they did with Metal Gear Solid 4.

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.
