The TiVo unit.
Seven Media Group-owned company Hybrid Television Services revealed yesterday that TiVo personal video recorders would be available through the Qantas Frequent Flyer rewards program. Participants in the system accrue points whenever they use Qantas services. Qantas Frequent Flyers will now be able to purchase the TiVo set top boxes just using points or with a points-plus-payment program.
Hybrid Television Services’ CEO Robee Minicola commented that the deal was made with the knowledge that these rewards programs “experience heavy demand for personal and gift purchases in the lead up to Christmas”.
The TiVo is touted as a great device for the consumer on the go thanks to its ability to schedule programs for recording, as well as the ability to remotely schedule recordings from any Internet connection.
