Handspring Treo 270 now available in Australia

Handspring Wednesday announced the availability of its Treo 270 mobile communicator in Australia.

The Treo 270 combines Handspring's Palm OS-based PDA into a wireless communicator that also provides mobile phone capabilities, wireless Internet access and more. The Treo 270 incorporates a color screen, a backlit QWERTY keyboard in place of the traditional "Graffiti" writing space, and enhanced battery life that Handspring claims is good for about three hours of talk time and up to 150 hours of standby time.

The Treo 270 is certified for use on the Vodafone network, and will be available from leading retailers including Strathfield, Harvey Norman, Harris Technology, Downtown Duty Free, Vodafone stores and Optus World. Pricing is expected to vary depending on individual wireless phone operator service contracts, but if you were to purchase the phone on its own without a service contract, it would set you back AUD$1,599 including GST.

The Treo 270 sports dual-band GSM (900/1800MHz) capabilities, along with features like three-way calling, caller ID and speakerphone. It also sports a new version of the Blazer Web browser, which includes in-line editing and advances navigation functions. Handspring noted that compatibility with next-generation GPRS upgrades is included in the price of the product.

MSI GS75

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.

This small mobile printer is exactly what I need for invoicing and other jobs such as sending fellow tradesman details or step-by-step instructions that I can easily print off from my phone or the Web.
