Symantec Voice of Reason - 23 February 2009

  • 23 February, 2009 17:27

<p>Good morning,</p>
<p>Symantec discovered a zero-day security vulnerability within Adobe’s Acrobat Reader software and immediately contacted Adobe. To date, Symantec has received reports of targeted attacks against government, large enterprise and financial services organisations. We have observed few exploits of this vulnerability in the U.S., China, Japan, Taiwan and the U.K. and continue to monitor for any signs of a widespread attack using this exploit.</p>
<p>We have received several PDF files that actively exploit the Adobe vulnerability [BID#33751]. This exploit is currently heuristically detected as Bloodhound.PDF.6 by Symantec’s solutions. Malicious PDFs using this exploit will be detected as Trojan.Pidief.E. The write-up for this threat can be viewed here: http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2009-021212-5523-99.</p>
<p>Please visit the Symantec Security Response Weblog for more information and let me know if you are interested in speaking with a Symantec expert about any of these security bulletins.</p>

I need power and lots of it. As a Front End Web developer anything less just won’t cut it which is why the MSI GT75 is an outstanding laptop for me. It’s a sleek and futuristic looking, high quality, beast that has a touch of sci-fi flare about it.

If you can afford the price tag, it is well worth the money. It out performs any other laptop I have tried for gaming, and the transportable design and incredible display also make it ideal for work.
