Sydney, Australia, 7 February, 2005 – Mobile enthusiasts can now connect simultaneously to multiple communications functions with the debut of HP’s iPAQ h6365, a three-way wireless, fully integrated pocket PC - the first of its kind in Australia.

Users tap into the one centralised HP iPAQ h6365 offering all of the capabilities of a personal organiser and mobile telephone via an enhanced three-way wireless network.

“The HP iPAQ h6365 is the ultimate wireless communicator,” said Rebekah O’Flaherty, Vice President and General Manager, Imaging & Printing Group, HP South Pacific. “It allows the user to make phone calls, surf the internet, access email and take photographs from anywhere in the world, at the same time, and using the fastest wireless voice and data networks available.”

“This mobile solution extends beyond today’s basic text-based e-mail messaging, giving consumers full synchronisation with their inbox, calendar and contacts,” said O’Flaherty. “We have achieved our goal of combining convenience and ease-of-use with on-the-go connectivity into a single device.”

The h6365 is designed to work with various frequencies and carriers available in multiple countries to give customers wireless coverage where they want it and at the speed they need.

With this device, consumers can take advantage of the integrated Bluetooth capability to synchronise and share data, access the Internet, send e-mails and exchange business cards or other documents with the convenience of one device. Bluetooth wireless technology also allows users to wirelessly print e-mail attachments, documents or photos conveniently from the Pocket PC to a Bluetooth enabled HP printer.

The h6365 offers three-way wireless capabilities – GSM/GPRS, wireless LAN network access (802.11b) and Bluetooth™ wireless technology. GSM allows users to make and receive international phone calls with high-quality wireless voice connectivity. While making a GSM voice call users can simultaneously use Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) to send and receive e-mails, utilising all three wireless technologies.

The innovative features of the h6365 enable users to automatically connect to the fastest network available and has the ability to switch to an alternate network if the initial connection is lost. While on a GSM voice call, customers can be notified of an incoming e-mail or vice versa.

With integrated WLAN, users can stay connected while in a wireless LAN-enabled office or home or at public wireless LAN (WLAN) hotspots such as coffee shops, hotels and airports.

Additionally, with models containing an integrated VGA camera (640x480 resolution) moments can be captured quickly and shared wirelessly with friends and family. HP Image Capture software takes the digital photographs while HP Image Zone for Pocket PC allows users to easily view and edit the images and create slide shows. Transferring those images from the iPAQ to a personal computer is made simple with HP Image Transfer.
