SecureServ Appointed Australian Distributor for Panda Security

Sydney, Australia – April 22, 2009. Vic Whiteley, General Manager of security technology and services distributor, SecureServ, has announced that the company has entered into a distribution arrangement with Internet security giant, Panda Security
 • 22 April, 2009 13:21

With global headquarters in Madrid, Panda Security has been in business since the early nineties and is now the fourth largest Internet security provider in the world

Mr Whiteley said that SecureServ had been looking for a range of antivirus and intrusion protection solutions to complement its existing range of security products. He pointed out
that the company wished to take advantage of the continuing growth of the UTM market, particularly in the managed services area and Panda has a leading position here, along
with Panda’s range of innovative Internet security software solutions, he added

SecurerServ commenced discussions with Panda earlier this year, after the European-based vendor established its first Australian office in Melbourne

Under the new arrangement, SecureServ will be the face of Panda’s SMB and corporate channel. Panda has also brought on a partner to package its consumer oriented products
for the retail market

SecureServ will be carrying Panda’s flagship Internet Security and Antivirus range for desktops and servers, as well as its newly-released Managed Office Protection managed software offering

“Managed Office Protection can be used by resellers to remotely manage a range of customers down to the desktop level. This means that small resellers can set themselves up for recurring revenue and ongoing maintenance work,” Whiteley said

“We will be pushing this with our other security products – a lot of resellers are already managing customers remotely through a remote VPN link; now they will be able to provide antivirus and intrusion protection remotely”

Panda’s Australian Managing Director, Andrew Hart, said that it had been looking for a channel partner to grow its local presence. SecureServ was a respected, entrepreneurial
and rapidly growing distributor, he said

“Our objective when we set up here was to get a major distributor as soon as possible and SecureServ fit well,” he said. “We believe it will be a highly successful partnership”

Panda delivers comprehensive technical training for the channel via their international eCampus and offers an online reseller accreditation program

About Panda Security
Founded in Spain in 1990, the company operated under the name Panda Software for the first 17 years. By 1995, it was the antivirus market leader in Spain and 1996 saw the start of its international expansion effort.
