Commercial Radio Australia’s analysis of the digital radio channel plans released by the Australian Communication and Media Authority shows that “well over 90%” of Adelaide’s population will be able to access digital radio.
The digital radio broadcast service will officially launch in Adelaide on 18 May, with commercial stations SAFM, FIVE AA, Nova 91.9, Triple M, Mix 102.3, Cruise 1323, Radar, Pink Radio, NovaNation and Koffee available to listeners in addition to stations broadcast by the ABC.
Digital radio is already available in Melbourne following an initial launch in Perth after access arrangements were finalised by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
To access the digital radio service, listeners must use a DAB+ compatible radio receiver such as the Grundig DAB+ iPod Docking Radio, Yamaha TSX-130, Sangean DPR-99 DAB+ radio or Grundig GDR700DAB.
