AAPT offers 'unlimited' broadband downloads

Broadband plans start at $49.95 per month

AAPT today launched what it claims are Australia’s first ADSL2+ "unlimited" broadband download plans. The three AAPT LiveNet Unlimited plans include unmetered downloads between 2am and 8am EST.

AAPT says the plans are designed for Australian families that don't want to exceed their monthly download limit. The plans offer on-peak download limits of 20GB, 30GB and 60GB for $49.95, $69.95 and $99.95 per month, respectively.

Existing AAPT customers can switch to one of the plans without incurring exit penalties from their current contracts. According to AAPT's Tahn Shannon, the new plan ensures customers are never faced with "bill shock" for excess usage fees: "If they exceed their limit, we simply slow down their speed for the remainder of the billing cycle."

"An unlimited amount of content rich media such as TV programs, music or purchased movies can be downloaded off-peak, leaving a generous 20-50GB to use during peak-time hours," Shannon said.

As with AAPT's previous broadband plans, uploads will not be counted towards on-peak usage. The AAPT LiveNet Unlimited plans are available on a 24-month plan.

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.
