Signature Security Helps Customers Stay Safe with Elcom

New Web-based Services Provide Flexibility and 24-hour Accessibility
 • 28 May, 2009 16:54

Signature Security, the largest Australian-owned electronic security company, has selected Sydney-based web application developer Elcom to provide a web content management system to support five new websites.

The new sites will use Elcom’s CommunityManager.NET development environment and will be designed to increase Signature’s revenues and improve competitive positioning through increased customer satisfaction and lead generation.

Signature Security employs around 400 staff and provides integrated security solutions for commercial and residential customers. They service more than 100,000 customer premises around Australia and New Zealand.

“We needed to upgrade our website from a marketing site to a truly interactive, communications platform for our clients,” said Marisa Piombo, group general manager - marketing and communications, Signature Security.

Signature Security is an integrated security provider offering a range of products and services including:
· Intruder alarms
· Back-to-base monitoring
· Closed circuit television
· Access control
· Electric perimeter protection

“To enable us to properly maintain security services for customers they need to advise us of, for example, changes to their addresses and other contact details, changes to their operating hours and any need for additional services,” said Piombo.

“Until now clients have had to remember to call us during working hours but with the new website they will be able to complete and submit information via dynamic forms on the website.”

The powerful web content management system will actually support five websites – Signature’s main customer site, a channel site, a knowledge-base site for employees and two sites for sub-brands.

“The content management system will support all Signature Security’s sites – large and small alike – providing a better customer experience and more streamlined information management,” said John Anstey, Elcom founder and chief executive officer.

Elcom won the deal in a competitive bid with two other companies.

“The fact Elcom is a local company with project managers and technical support in Sydney, the willingness of Elcom’s people to teach our internal graphics designer how to design the new web sites, their training programs and the technical strengths of the CommunityManager.NET environment gave Elcom the winning edge,” said Piombo.

Two of the new sites are expected to launch by the end of June to be followed closely by the remaining sites.

“Elcom is already delivering beyond our expectations – for example they are giving us the capability to route web-based inquiries automatically to the relevant branch office or department and this functionality is outside our original scope of work,” Piombo said.
